Vogue's Guide To Bridal-Party Perfection

Vogue's Guide To Bridal-Party Perfection

In 2023, a one-dress-fits-all approach for your bridal party is a thing of the past. According to a survey conducted by Vogue Weddings, only 7% of brides subject their bridesmaids to the misery that is matching dresses. While 46% of brides keep the looks worn by their bridal party within a cohesive color family, 43% opt for one color, and 34% use the same fabric—very few brides today are forcing adults of different shapes and sizes to wear the same dress.

Instead, just like with their wedding wardrobes, the majority opt for a curated, cohesive feeling for their bridal party, which isn’t always easy. According to our survey, nearly one out of two brides felt that selecting bridesmaid dresses was challenging, and two out of three sought inspiration for bridesmaid dress styling. And the decisions don’t just stop with the ceremony—there’s also the getting-ready process, engagement parties, and the bachelorette bash to think about, as we’ve happily seen a return to “normal” pre-wedding celebrations. Additionally, bachelorette parties are back! These days, 71% of brides will celebrate with their bridal parties versus only 51% of those who married in the past two years, and one in two are seeking gift ideas for their bridal parties.

Brides today are planning out complete multi-event wardrobes for themselves and doing the same for their bridal party—playing with silhouettes, colors, fabric, and even texture to create an aesthetic amongst their group of friends that celebrates harmonious individuality and, ideally, ensures that everyone is happy . . . and most importantly, feels comfortable. A-line silhouettes are the most desirable silhouette for bridal party dresses, followed by mermaid and ballgown styles. One in two brides incorporate neutral colors like white or black into their bridal party looks, while nine out of ten will embrace color somehow. Blue remains the most popular shade, followed by pink and green. Romantic finishes, like satin, lace, and chiffon, are still all the rage. Still, almost one in four brides are willing to incorporate casual textures, such as cotton, into their bridal party curation.

To help with all of the above, we’ve curated our list of go-to dresses for bridal parties and beyond. This curated collection of looks—all from Mari Bella Bridal Galleria—will ensure that your bridal party both looks great and feels like themselves . . . and isn’t that always the end goal?
